IMPACT OF MOISTURE CONDITIONS ON SPRING WHEAT YIELD ON THE PRIOBSKOYE PLATEAU


There was studied the effect of temperature and rainfall distribution during the growing period on the yielding capacity of spring wheat taking into consideration the phases of agricultural plant development and previous soil moistening. The investigations were carried out on continuous cropping on leached chernozem soil. The conditions were determined to realize a potential of wheat yielding capacity at a low-intensity (without applying fertilizers) and an intensive production level.

CHANGE IN PROPERTIES OF LEACHED CHERNOZEM UNDER VARIOUS ANTROPOGENIC LOADS


A change in physical-chemical and agrophysical properties of leached chernozem of areas near the Ob River in Novosibirsk region under long-term agricultural use has been considered. The content and qualitative composition of humus has been investigated, and the negative changes in it have been noted. It has been revealed that the higher rates of reduction in humus amount and degradation of aggregate composition take place when irrigated.

THE RESULTS OF SPRING COMMON WHEAT BREEDING FOR PRODUCTIVITY UNDER CONDITIONS OF FOREST STEPPE IN WESTERN SIBERIA


The results of spring common wheat breeding for productivity under conditions of forest steppe in Western Siberia have been considered. The high-producing lines obtained by the hybridization method have been evaluated to be used in developing mid-late and mid-ripening varieties
being characterized by the resistance to biotic and abiotic environmental factors and by the high yielding capacity. There were studied the correlations between the yielding capacity and spike productivity elements in spring common wheat and temperature and precipitation total.

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF EAR PRODUCTIVITY CHARACTERS IN THE NEAR-ISOGENIC LINES OF COMMON WHEAT CULTIVAR SARATOVSKAYA 29


There were studied the near-isogenic lines of cultivar Saratovskaya 29 by 9 marker genes developed on the basis of various donor cultivars and substituted and near-isogenic lines of common wheat. By means of single-factor analysis of variance, it has been revealed that the genetic material taken from common wheat cultivars does not change the quantitative characters of the ear, and the differences depend on the growing conditions.

IN VITRO TESTING THE CYTOKININ ACTIVITY OF NANOBIOCOMPOSITE MADE OF SEA BUCKTHORN BARK


Using rapeseed (Brassica napus) tissue culture, there was tested the regulatory activity of nanobiocomposite obtained from sea buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) bark by mechanochemical treatment. It has been established that the preparation is a plant growth regulator being close to cytokinins by the nature of biological activity. It is shown that the sea buckthorn preparations with cytokinin activity are promising to be used in environmentally safe agriculture.

COMPARATIVE EVALUATION OF SUITABILITY FOR MECHANICAL HARVESTING IN HONEYSUCKLE VARIETIES


There is given the comparative evaluation of suitability for mechanical harvesting in honeysuckle varieties and hybrids, the major criterion being a degree of damaging fruits when affected by work tools of devices during tearing off. Based on a complex of characteristics, there have been selected the varieties being promising for commercial growing technology and mechanical harvesting.

DEVELOPMENT OF ORNAMENTAL BIRD CHERRY CULTIVARS FOR SIBERIA


The composition of bird cherry collection and its native diversity as to ornamental features has been studied. The prominent genotypes for breeding in Padus avium Mill. and Padus virginiana (L.) Mill. have been selected. The red-leafed cultivars and a number of interspecific and intraspecific hybrids of great importance for ornamental utilization and breeding have been developed. Their detailed description has been made.

SEED PRODUCTIVITY IN SPECIES CERASUS, MICROCERASUS AND AMYGDALUS (ROSACEAE)


The potential and actual seed productivity, pollen fertility and reproductive performance were studied in species Cerasus, Microcerasus and Amygdalus under different types of pollination. The causes of reduction in seed productivity in the plants studied have been shown. High potential seed productivity has been revealed that contributes to production of full-valued seed material.

ECONOMIC TRAITS OF CM-1 PRECOCIOUS MEAT PIGS OF PRIOBSKY TYPE


There are presented the data on growth and development of mature CM-1 Precocious Meat pigs of the Priobskiy type. There are generalized the long-term investigations on reproductive, fattening and pork-making qualities of CM-1 pigs in forming of the Priobskiy commercial type. It has been established that the new type of pigs possesses the adaptability to conditions of Western Siberia, considerable early maturation and average daily gain, high and stable reproductive and maternal characteristics of sows, reduced lard thickness.

USE OF EXPANDED VERMICULITE IN FEEDING DRY COWS


There are given the results of the experiment on introducing expanded vermiculite, as a natural sorbent, into a diet for dry cows. The properties of this natural mineral are briefly characterized. The composition and values of animals’ blood have been studied; the digestion of diet’s basic components with vermiculite added has been evaluated. It has been established that vermiculite has a positive effect on feed quality and physiological condition of animals.

HISTOCHEMICAL STUDY OF TOTAL PROTEIN AND SH GROUPS AT ENDOMETRITIS IN COWS


The localization and dynamics of protein and SH groups were studied in cells, intercellular substance and other microanatomical formations during the change of the physiological state in cows. The certain histomorphological and histochemical changes in endometrium have been revealed. It has been established that the content of protein and its thiol groups is the largest in the integumentary and glandular epithelium of cows by the end of pregnancy in connection with enhancing histotrophic nutrition of the fetus along with the development of hematrophic one.

ANALYZING EPIZOOTIC SITUATION ON VIRAL RESPIRATORY DISEASES OF CATTLE IN CENTRAL SIBERIA


There are presented the results of laboratory study on spread of viral respiratory diseases of cattle in farms of Central Siberia. It is shown that some virus infections take place in the farms of the region, and the features of their manifestation have been revealed depending on a season, an age of susceptible animals, and on a way of farming.

STATE OF IMMUNOLOGICAL REACTIVITY IN ANIMALS AS INFLUENCED BY PESTICIDE


There are given the findings of investigations on a response of the animals’ immune system to extreme ecological impacts. There is described the action of pesticide dimethylammonium salt of 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid on the state of certain cell and humoral components of the rabbits’ immune system. It has been established that the number of lymphocytes is reduced, and the proliferative processes in these cells are depressed, when added this pesticide to the rabbits’ diet.

USE OF ISHIKAWA DIAGRAM IN DEVELOPING TECHNOLOGY OF BACTERIAL SUSPENSION APPLICATION TO SOIL SIMULTANEOUSLY WITH SOWING


Cause-and-effect relations of a technology for applying bacterial suspensions to soil simultaneously with sowing have been considered. Various factors and conditions influencing the qualitative indices of the process have been revealed and systematized. The basic conditions and interrelations between all the constituent elements of the technology — people-engineering tools-technology elements-quality of process — have been viewed. It is drawn attention to the choice of the best variants in designing the whole system.

MODEL FOR CALCULATING ECONOMIC INDICES


An approach to determining the accounting prices for agricultural products and the land rent estimates has been developed based on the balance model applicable for multivariant calculations. The discussion of the model has been carried out. This model is suggested to be used for determining cost measurement data necessary in developing the effective price adjusting and income policy in agriculture.

EVALUATING PREVENTIVE EFFECTIVENESS OF MINCED MEAT WITH FRUIT-AND-BERRY SUPPLEMENTS


There was studied the effect of feeding minced beef with fruit-and-berry supplements from apples and sea buckthorn berries to laboratory rats on the reduction in content of toxic elements in their organs and tissues. There were determined the concentrations of lead and cadmium in the internals and tissues of the laboratory animals — heart, liver, kidney, spleen, muscular and bone tissues. The content of cadmium and lead in the organism of animals fed with fruit-and-berry supplements was established to reduce.

EFFECT OF A DOSE OF VEGETABLE COMPONENT ON QUALITIES OF FLOUR CURD PRODUCT


There are presented the theoretical calculations on using grain-legume component from prepared peas in manufacturing combined curd products. A dose of peas added was simulated to determine its effect on the content of moisture, protein, fat, carbohydrates, and mineral substances as well as on the duration of souring, a transition degree from solids to whey, and on the syneresis of combined curd coagulate. The use of grain-legume component in preparing flour curd product was shown to be effective.

SIMULATION OF NEW MEAT-VEGETABLE PRODUCTS


There was developed the formulation and the flow chart for producing minced meat-vegetable masses enriched with berry residues. Based on the preliminary engineering researches carried out, there were determined the limits of concentration for formulation components. By means of STATISTICA 6.0 software package, there was carried out the regression and correlation analysis of the experimental data. Based on the results obtained, there was determined the optimal value for each component being a part of formulation of minced meat-vegetable masses.

PERSONNEL POLICY OF THE SOVIET STATE AND VETERINARIAN TRAINING IN SIBERIA IN 1925-1940


Based on the archival documents of land bureaus, party activists, directives of the Government and periodicals, there was studied the personnel policy of the Soviet state, the training and job placement of veterinarians during the period of reconstruction and mass agricultural collectivization in 1928-1940. The data on the oldest veterinary universities of Siberia and on establishing new educational institutions during that period of time are given. The outstanding scientists in veterinary medicine of that time are named. The causes of shortage of skilled veterinary personnel, one of which are the political purges and repressions, are announced.

GONADAL-RENAL-SUPRARENAL ZONE IN FEMALE QUAILS at EARLY POSTEMBRYONAL DEVELOPMENTAL STAGE


The results of morphometric and histological studies of the gonadal-renal-suprarenal zone in female Japanese quails at the age of 24 hours are presented. The detailed histological analysis of the structures studied has been carried out. The features of microstructure of ovary, kidney and adrenal gland in the female quails at the early postembryonal developmental stage have been established.
