PROSPECTS OF BARLEY CULTIVATION ON ACID SOILS IN SUBTAIGA OF KRASNOYARSK TERRITORY


The findings of the investigations into the prospects of barley cultivation on acid soils in the subtaiga zone of Krasnoyarsk Territory are submitted. The various breeding methods used for developing the gene pool of barley with higher resistance to acidity of these soils have been described. The effect of mineral fertilizers on increasing the barley tolerance to the negative action of soil acidity and on increasing the yielding capacity of this crop has been shown. The certain varieties and lines with integrated tolerance to acid and saline soils have been singled out.

CORRELATIONS IN WILD AND DEVELOPED COMPLEX-HYBRID POPULATIONS OF PERENNIAL GRASSES UNDER CONDITIONS OF NORTHERN KAZAKHSTAN


There was revealed the association between basic economic traits for wild and developed complex-hybrid populations of crested wheat grass, awnless bromegrass for hay and Russian wild ryegrass used for pasture. It has been shown that, under conditions of North Kazakhstan steppe, the developed complex-hybrid populations have more labile correlations across the years of study than the wild populations do.

TRYPSIN INHIBITOR ACTIVITY IN LEAVES OF FODDER LEGUMINOUS PLANTS


The possible ways have been revealed to obtain the forms of fodder leguminous plants with the low trypsin inhibitor activity (TIA). As a result of investigating the leaves of middle-aged generative plants at the various developmental stages from introduced and native populations, there have been found out the populations of Astragalus genera as well as the plants of Hedysarum L. at the stages of flowering and fruiting that are characterized by the minimal TIA. The considerable reduction in TIA of green mass of plants has been established after heating or treating the mass with hot water.

INFLUENCE OF SOIL-CLIMATIC CONDITIONS ON C VITAMIN CONTENT IN BLACK CURRANT BERRIES


The field tests have shown the positive influence of spring wetting and applying fertilizers under conditions of sufficient heat supply on the dynamics of C vitamin accumulation in black currant berries of different varieties grown on frozen soil. The maximal absolute and relative increases in ascorbic acid content have been revealed for the variety Algo bred in Yakutia in a variant with applying humus against the background of complete mineral fertilizer.

USE OF BIOTECHNOLOGICAL METHODS FOR DERIVING INTERGENERIC SEED FRUIT HYBRIDS


There are given the results of investigations into the use of biotechnological methods for deriving hybrid plants from seeds formed through intergeneric hybridization of seed fruit crops. The conditions have been determined to ensure shoot regeneration from isolated cotyledons and the optimal development of the hybrid forms at each stage of in vitro cultivation. It has been proved that the use of biotechnological methods enables us to derive viable plants from seeds with underdeveloped embryos and to grow intergeneric hybrids that cannot be obtained under standard conditions.

TESTING A NEW FEED SUPPLEMENT ZEOPIVD AND ITS EFFECT ON CHICKEN PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE


There are given the data of the experimental study on a new feed supplement Zeopivd obtained as a result of drying of watered beer grain with natural zeolite. It has been established that the expenditure of energy in chickens is lowered, when they are fed with this supplement. It has been shown that Zeopivd has the positive effect on the clinical state and production performance of chickens.

STUDYING ETIOLOGICAL FEATURES OF NECROBACTERIOSIS IN REINDEERS


There are submitted the results of research into the etiological features of necrobacteriosis in reindeers. In 32 % of cases, there is evidence of inhabiting the gastrointestinal tract with necrobacteriosis pathogen in clinically healthy domestic and wild reindeers. It has been established that the necrobacteriosis agent Fusobacterium necrophorum is ever recorded in purulent-necrotic lesions of the distal extremities in reindeers. In 73% of cases of necrobacteriosis in reindeers, the representatives of aerobic and anaerobic microflora are isolated from the pathologic process together with F. necrophorum.

USING FEEDS OF HIGH BIOLOGICAL VALUE IN DIETS FOR MILK COWS


There are given the results of studying the biological adequacy of concentrated mixtures containing cakes of oil crops bred in Siberia. The chemical composition has been determined, the biological value of cakes has been revealed, and the feeding power of concentrated feeds has been established. It is shown that the use of oil cakes as a component of concentrated feeds allows us to provide milk cows with higher-level metabolizable energy during the period of maximum milk yielding, and to increase their production performance.

ISOLATION AND TYPING OF BOVINE RESPIRATORY SYNCYTIAL VIRUS BY RT-PCR


The results of isolation and typing of bovine respiratory syncytial virus by polymerase chain reaction are submitted. It has been established that the primary calf testis culture is most effective for isolating the virus from animals’ biomaterial specimens, and continuous bovine embryonic testis cells for cultivation that ensures the virus yield at the ninth passage up to 103,5 TCID50/ml. For typing the virus in cell cultures, polymerase chain reaction is recommended.

EFFECTIVENESS OF DETOXIFICATION OF THE LABORATORY ANIMALS’ ORGANISM WITH VEGETABLE EXTRACTS AT EXPERIMENTAL TOXICOSIS


There are given the results of the investigations into detoxifying ability of birch buds and leaves and pine buds and needles with respect to lead and cadmium ions. The experiments on determining the detoxification effect, the physiological one on rats and in vitro one carried out on solutions of lead and cadmium salts, have been described. It has been established that vegetable raw material significantly reduces ion concentrations of the indicated toxicants in organs and tissues of the laboratory animals. The binding of lead ions with raw material has been revealed to be more effective as compared with that of cadmium ions.

MODERN METHODS OF PRODUCING PANTOHEMATOGEN


There are presented the results of research into time saving during the production of pantohematogen and into elimination of ethyl alcohol from the pantohematogen composition. There are given the data of the experiment series on substituting an additional antlered deer’s blood volume for ethanol and on introducing the natural preservative, preparation «Grapefruit Citrosept», into the pantohematogen composition. It has been established that this method for producing food supplement allows us to obtain the product with higher biochemical and biological properties as well as to eliminate the pasteurization process.

FEED TRANSPORTATION TO FARM PREMISES DURING WINTER PERIOD


There was studied the action of cold air entering a stock building during feed transportation in winter on the temperature regime and humidity indices in animal farms. A device has been suggested to deliver any kind of feed bulk to a stock building without wide opening of gates. The results of testing the device are given. It has been established that the use of the experimental assembly enables us to keep up the indices of temperature and humidity at premises.

DETERMINING BASIC PARAMETERS OF TILLAGE-AND-SEEDING MACHINES


The method of similarity and dimensions was used in analyzing the reference material to reveal a character of interaction of basic parameters in tillage-and-seeding machines. The figures of some dependencies in the dimensionless coordinates are presented. It has been established that the character of regularities makes it possible to determine the basic operating parameters of tillageand-seeding machines for various soil-climatic zones depending on field size and relief and on a length of pass.

The economic evaluation is given to several potato-growing techniques used at the farms of Amur region. There are submitted the methods for modeling a potato conveyor that allow us to efficiently carry out multivariant calculations of potato variety combinations. It has been established that the use of these methods contributes to the volume of potato realization owing to the selection of varieties being in demand at the consumer market and ensuring the greatest profit of an enterprise.

There are described the stages of commercial horticulture development in Novosibirsk Region from the sixties of the XXth century till now. There is given the economic evaluation of the present-day state of horticulture in the region, and of the established trends in the development of specialized gardening organizations. The basic factors influencing the increase in cost efficiency of horticulture have been revealed, and the most promising fruit-and-berry crops and zones for their rational territorial distribution have been determined.

PRODUCTIVITY OF EUROPEAN VARIETIES OF APPLE IN STRETCHING-BUSHY FORM UNDER CONDITIONS OF FOREST STEPPE OF ALTAI TERRITORY


There are given the results of the four-year research into the productivity and periodicity of fruiting in 13 new European large-fruited apple varieties in the stretching-bushy form grown in the territory of the experimental station of the M.A. Lisavenko Research Institute of Horticulture for Siberia (Altai Territory). Their average yield, fruiting periodicity coefficient and yield load per unit of crown volume have been determined. The most productive apple varieties with regular fruiting have been revealed.

USE OF WATER CONIFEROUS EXTRACT IN FEEDING SUCKLING CALVES


There are given the data of the scientific experiment on determining the effectiveness of feeding water coniferous extract to calves during their suckling period. Water coniferous extract was established to have the positive effect on metabolism of the young animals. The increase in daily liveweight gain and ration’ nutrient digestibility and the reduction in feed inputs per 1 kg liveweight gain were revealed. A dose of water coniferous extract for feeding was established to make up 10 g per beast daily.

AVAILABILITY OF SOIL ALGAE IN ASSESSING SOILS FIT FOR RECULTIVATION


There was carried out the bog soil assessment by means of soil algae in the territory of Archangelsk Region. The species composition of algae has been determined in reclaimed oligotrophic bog as compared with undrained one. There is given the detailed characteristic of occurrence, abundance and activity of algoflora representatives. The changes in algal communities resulting from the bog reclamation have been revealed. It has been established that the ecological features of soil algal groups act as an indicator of the ecosystem status.
