THE MAIN RESEARCH COMPONENTS IN POTATO BREEDING
FOR RESISTANCE TO GOLDEN POTATO CYST NEMATODE
IN WESTERN SIBERIA
There are given the results of studying collections of potato varieties resistant to golden cyst nematode (Globodera rostochiensis) in four agroecological zones of Western Siberia. PCN resistant varieties possessing a higher adaptability to conditions of the region were singled out. Zonal empirical models of table potato varieties were proposed. An algorithm for matching parental forms and selecting promising parental combinations was developed using a computer program. Information database on PCN resistant potato varieties was formed.

GRAIN QUALITY IN THE NEAR-ISOGENIC LINES
OF COMMON WHEAT VARIETY SARATOVSKAYA 29
There was studied the effect of marker genes of the near-isogenic lines of common wheat variety Saratovskaya 29 on grain quality traits, such as thousand-kernel weight, total vitreousness, crude gluten content, and grain hardness. It has been determined that all the marker genes introduced to the variety affect grain hardness: either improve this trait, or reduce it. It has been demonstrated that most of the genes have a pleiotropic effect and affect the forming of two, three and four traits related to yielding capacity.

INITIAL FORMS OF APPLE AND BREEDING FOR RESISTANCE
TO APPLE SCAB IN THE SOUTH OF WESTERN SIBERIA
The findings of long-term investigations into apple variety diversity, and the results of breeding for resistance to apple scab (causative agent — Venturia inaequalis) in different groups of crossing in the south of Western Siberia are presented. It has been determined that inheritance of this character by hybrid progeny closely depends on initial forms. The donors of the character, promising initial forms and the best crossing groups have been revealed; the varieties highly resistant to apple scab have been developed.

GROWTH AND WINTER HARDINESS IN DWARF FORMS
OF SIBERIAN APPLE UNDER CONDITIONS OF THE IRKUTSK CITY
The growth parameters and winter hardiness in three-year introduced dwarf forms of Siberian apple were investigated. It has been demonstrated that the growth of super dwarf forms increases when transferring them from arid natural conditions to more favorable ones, however, they grow slower than tall forms do. It has been revealed that the dwarf forms of Siberian apple do not yield to tall ones in winter hardiness.

COLLECTION OF WOODY LIANAS
IS A VALUABLE MATERIAL FOR LANDSCAPE GARDENING
UNDER CONDITIONS OF RUSSIAN FAR EAST
There was studied the form diversity of woody lianas belonging to 36 species of various eco-geographic origin. There were revealed the winterhardy ornamental-foliage and beautifullyflowering species of liana most suited for cultivation under conditions of the Russian Far East. Three groups of lianas being promising as to winter hardiness were selected. The advanced lines in the use of lianas for landscape gardening were suggested.

ADAPTATION POTENTIAL OF SPECIES OF THE GENUS VIOLA
There was studied the adaptation potential of species of the genus Viola from the collection «Violaceae» developed at the Central Siberian Botanical Garden, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The criteria were determined, and the scale was developed to estimate acclimatization carried out for 38 species. The species studied were related to promising and medium-promising ones while two populations show little promise. It has been established that the estimate of acclimatization does not depend on a taxonomic position of a species.

EFFECT OF TREATMENT WITH CONIFEROUS EXTRACTS
ON POTATO PLANTS
The effect of coniferous extracts on potato plants has been studied. It has been established that the treatment of vegetative plants with the preparations Novosil and Lariksin increases their stress resistance, and the treatment of tubers and vegetative plants increases the yielding capacity of tubers. It has been revealed that coniferous extracts completely suppress the growth and development of the bacterial pathogen causing potato ring rot.

BIOLOGICAL ACTIVE FEED SUPPLEMENT
FROM RHAPONTICUM CARTHAMOIDES IN DIETS FOR PIGS
There are given the results of the scientific-production experiment on determining the effectiveness of feeding biological active substances (steroids) from Rhaponticum carthamoides to replacement pigs. It has been established that the addition of steroids at the rate of 0.1-0.5 % of ration’s dry matter provides the increase in intensity of growth and development of pigs. Nutrients consumption per unit of liveweight gain in replacement pigs has been revealed to be reduced.

ANTIGENIC STATUS AND CHROMOSOMAL INSTABILITY
IN GRAY UKRAINIAN CATTLE
There was studied the erythrocytic antigen pool and a level of chromosomal instability in Gray Ukrainian cattle introduced. The comparison of the cattle with the other cattle breeds and hybrids in Siberia was carried out. The introduced Yakutskaya breed was established to be similar to Gray Ukrainian breed by a set of antigens in comparison with other ones. A high chromosomal instability level of Gray Ukrainian cattle has been revealed that is supposed to be a result of continuing adaptation processes of the animals to extreme environmental conditions of Western Siberia.

CLINICAL AND HEMATOLOGICAL INDICES
OF THE YOUNG STOCK OF YAKS
AND HYBRIDS BETWEEN THEM AND SIMMENTAL CATTLE
There are given the findings of the investigations into clinical and hematological indices of Buryat yaks and hybrids between them and Simmental cattle kept under conditions of Buryat highland. It has been noticed that the pulse and respiration rate in animals is reduced with age. It has been revealed that the morphological and biochemical blood values of yaks and hybrids change depending on sex, age and season. The young stock has been registered to have higher hemoglobin and erythrocyte content. It has been determined that the level of health in the animals kept under extreme conditions is good.

TRANSFERASE ACTIVITY IN BLOOD
OF PIGS FATTENED TO VARIOUS LIVE WEIGHTS
There was studied the serum alanine-aminotransferase activity in Large White, Kemerovskaya and Landrace pigs fattened to 100, 120 and 140 kg. The interbreed difference in the transferase activity in blood serum of gilts has been revealed. The enzymatic activity has been found to be reduced, when fattening animals to 120 and 140 kg. A possibility to use alanine-aminotransferase activity indices for forecasting precocity and productive qualities of animals has been proved.

MERCHANDISING VALUATION OF QUALITY
OF NORTHERN RAW FISH
There were studied the quality indices of raw fish industrially caught in the Lower Yenisei. The classification of goodness and unsoundness signs of fish caught in this region was made. The optimal outdoor storage life of fish under various temperature conditions was determined. There are presented the indices of physical-chemical properties and biochemical composition of raw fish that characterize its food and biological value.

FEATURES OF FORMING AND PROSPECTS FOR DEVELOPING
There were considered the prerequisites and conditions for forming the agro-food market in Siberia. The historical stages of the market development were determined. There were revealed the challenges and threats to the development of agro-food markets in Siberia under present-day conditions. The features of developing the agro-industrial production and agro-food market in the regions of Siberia were analyzed. There are presented the forecasting balances of production and consumption of grain and grain products, milk and dairy products, meat and meat products across the regions of Siberia up to 2015.

SWOT ANALYSIS OF ECONOMIC ACTIVITY OF TYUMEN REGION’S AGRICULTURAL ENTERPRISES
The methods for carrying out the SWOT analysis of agricultural enterprises’ economic activity are described. The results of the secondary SWOT analysis of economic activity carried out at the Tyumen Region’s agricultural enterprises are presented. The enterprise’s strengths and weaknesses have been considered with regard to opportunities and threats to its development. The establishment of integrated economic structures has been proved to be a key factor of economic stabilization.

DIALLEL ANALYSIS OF EAR LENGTH IN SPRING TRITICALE
There was developed a computer program for calculating the combining ability of spring triticale varieties and for carrying out the genetic analysis of parent material as to quantitative traits. In order to eliminate probable aneuploids of the crop, a need for a great number of repetitions in experimenting was demonstrated. The program was tested on hybrids experimentally obtained as a result of crossing between four spring triticale varieties according to a complete diallel scheme. A variety being promising one for breeding for ear length was revealed.

STUDYING HARMFULNESS THRESHOLDS OF WEED PLANTS IN CENTRAL AGRICULTURAL ZONE OF MONGOLIA
There was briefly analyzed the simultaneous growing of cultivated and weed plants and their ecological interrelations that manifest themselves in competition for living conditions — moisture, light, nutrition elements, and etc. There are submitted the results of research into the effect of a degree of infestation i the sowings of grain and vegetable crops cultivated in Central Agricultural Zone of Mongolia on the yielding capacity of wheat and vegetables. The harmfulness thresholds of weeds in the region have been established.
