SEED PROTECTANTS AS INDUCTORS OF MUTAGENIC VARIABILITY IN SPRING BARLEY AND WHEAT
The investigations were carried out to study the mutagenic action of chemical seed protectants and the biological preparation Agat 25 K used in agriculture on spring barley and wheat. The mutagenic activity of seed protectants has been revealed.

PECULIARITIES OF ANATOMIC STRUCTURE OF CULM IN DIFFERENT BIOTYPES OF BARLEY
The anatomic structure of the culm was studied in dense-eared and loose-eared forms of the Vulkan variety of barley. The differences between these forms in developing parenchyma and conducting tissues, in thickness of the culm, its wall and cavity are shown.

INTRASPECIFIC CLASSIFICATION OF OCTAPLOID TRITICALE SUBSPECIES
An intraspecific classification of primary octaploid triticale subspecies is presented. The subspecies have been considered based on combinations of the presence or the absence of qualitative traits of the plant.

EFFECT OF SEL-PLEX ON BLOOD VALUES OF BULL CALVES

SEROLOGIC MONITORING OF VIRAL INFECTIONS IN WILD BIRDS IN STEPPE AREA OF THE ALTAI TERRITORY
There are presented the investigations of wild birds’ blood serums for viral infections. Wild birds of migrant and nonmigratory groups have been established to be infected with viruses of influenza, infectious laryngotracheitis, Newcastle disease, and infectious bursitis.

EFFECT OF THE PREPARATION E-SELENIUM ON REPRODUCTIVE FUNCTION IN COWS
The experiment carried out on Black-and-White cows has shown that the single dosing of the preparation E-selenium under conditions of selenium-deficient ration exerts a positive influence on improving the reproductive characteristics of the animals.

PREPARATION OF CONCENTRATES WITH USING BARMY WASH WATER TO FEEDING
There are set out the results of the experiment on using barmy wash water while preparing concentrated feeds. It has been established that the growth rate of bull calves in fattening increases, and consumption of feeds decreases by the application of such concentrates.

APPLICATION OF ELECTROGASTROGRAPHY TO DIAGNOSE ABOMASUM DISEASES IN CALVES
The biological potentials have been studied, and the variants of electrogastrograms of the calf’s abomasum in the norm and at different diseases of gastrointestinal tract have been obtained. It has been established that application of electrogastrography allows detecting disorders in the calf’s abomasum much earlier than clinic manifestations of a disease become evident.

A ROLE OF NITRIC OXIDE IN FORMING OF COLOSTRAL IMMUNITY IN NEWBORN PIGS
A role of nitric oxide as a universal transmitter in immunologic protection of a newborn pig was investigated. Nitric oxide is assumed to provide the adequate colostral immunoglobulin level in newborn pigs during the first days after birth.

SPROUTING OF WHEAT GRAIN USING SODIUM SELENITE
There are set out the results of soaking and sprouting of wheat kernels using selenite-containing water. The optimal regimes for both of these processes have been established which provide the maximal activity of enzymatic processes and the higher concentration of selenium in grain.
